Be The . . .
Life’s learning experiences are not for the weak.
Sometimes they are like that gnat that won’t stop buzzing in your face. You swat at it. Eventually it goes away.
Sometimes they are that fly that you can’t quite catch, no matter how hard you try. Eventually you find that fly legs up.
Sometimes they are that mosquito bite that itches non-stop for days. Eventually it heals and you forget about it and move on.
Sometimes they are the bee sting. It hurts so much when it happens. The pain subsides and you learn to avoid bees.
Sometimes they are the rocks thrown through your window. You repair the window and move on.
But sometimes (thankfully not often if you are lucky) they are an atomic bomb that you didn’t see coming. They devastate your entire world; everything that you know is gone; you must start all over again. At first, you hide thinking that you will be safe that way. Then you slowly crawl out of your hole to see what remains, hopeful (praying) that it wasn’t as life shattering as you thought. You see that those hopes are dashed. You pray even harder for the strength to continue and go on. You eventually decide that you WILL go on and you determine that to do that, you have to . . .
Be the . . . cockroach. Be the cockroach that made it through everything tossed at it by the earth and its inhabitants for over 320,000,000 years!
- This is dedicated to everyone who has gone through, is going through, or will go through the atomic bomb.
