There Is One In Every Family

A family of ducks, including about a dozen ducklings, really like our backyard.  They hang out near the pond every evening and sometimes during the day.  Yesterday was one of those days.

I noticed them as I walked past the window and saw that one of the ducklings (let’s call the duckling “Trouble”) was chasing and annoying its siblings.  I stopped and watched as Daddy Duck cornered that little duckling which allowed Mommy Duck to get the others calmed down.  As soon as Daddy Duck turned around, Trouble ran past him and started all over again.  Both duck parents tried to stop the mayhem Trouble was starting.  I watched for a few minutes as this happened repeatedly. 

About 10 minutes later, I noticed the family was back in the yard.  I looked and saw that Mommy and Daddy Duck had brought in backup in the form of 3 additional ducks – 1 female and 2 males.  Trouble could no longer get away with the shenanigans of earlier.

It just goes to prove that there IS one in every family.  By the way, if you don’t know who it is in your family, it’s probably you.  LOL
