OVERTHINKING –
I am:
The Queen of Overthinking
The Grand Master of Overthinking
The Expert Overthinker
If you think that you are any or all of these – you are wrong! My picture is in the dictionary under the definition. Yep, that’s me. LOL
I try so very hard to not overthink things – everything. I have spent too many sleepless nights overthinking. Too many days overthinking. Too much of my time has gone into overthinking. Why, oh why, can’t I be like other people and not overthink?
What? Other people overthink too? No way!
This has plagued me my entire life. I still worry about things I said or did decades ago.
See my post STICKS AND STONES where I talk about one way I fight the overthinking.
The other way that I get these thoughts under control is by using the “Let Them Theory”. If you haven’t heard of this, it is so simple that it seems too good to be true. I am here to tell you that it works. Find this book and read it!

I bought the book and am re-reading it again. I am highlighting what speaks to me so that I can quickly review the book again and again. I have been through a lot lately and I have been much happier using the Let Them Theory in my interactions with others. Their actions are their actions. They are responsible for those actions, not me. It is on them, not me. I cannot control others (the BIG message of the Let Them Theory) so I need to stop trying or worrying about it.
Does this mean that I don’t care about others? Absolutely not! I do care but adults have to take responsibility for themselves, and I need to let them. Let them say what they are going to say. Let them do what they are going to do. Let them be them while I am being me. Let Them Theory is about letting go and giving yourself peace. What more can one ask for?
